Greg Stacho
Operations Manager
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Greg Stacho has spent most of his life in Carroll County, Maryland, where he has made a significant impact on the landscaping industry. As the Operations Manager at Akehurst Landscape Service, Greg brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role, having started his landscaping journey in the 10th grade and continuing right after high school.
With a strong belief in the importance of dedication and a comprehensive understanding of every aspect of his industry, Greg has ascended through various positions—starting as a laborer and progressing through roles of foreman, design sales, and account manager, ultimately reaching the position of Director of Operations. His commitment to professional development is evident in his certifications as a Professional Horticulturist through the Maryland Nursery, Landscape and Greenhouse Association (MNLGA) and as an Advanced Snow Manager through the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA). Notably, he was the first recipient in Maryland to receive the Advanced Snow Manager designation from SIMA.
Outside of work, Greg is a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherishes family time. He also finds joy in playing guitar, a hobby that lets him unwind and relax. An avid Baltimore Orioles fan, he enjoys cheering for his team during the baseball season. His clean-cut appearance doesn’t call for the description of “Mountain Man” but he enjoys spending time is the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Greg's philosophy, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail," highlights his proactive approach to both life and work. He is passionate about helping others grow in their careers, believing that mentorship and support are key to success in any profession. As he looks forward to the future, Greg dreams of one day sitting on his front porch, enjoying a snowstorm. A rare moment of relaxation after decades of working winter storms.
