UPDATED 6.29.09 "Ready to Serve" Dear TVTM Volunteers, Amazing Testimony. On Monday June 15th, we had our 2nd quarter training. Rev. Ron Standiford shared about taking the call and using the opening diagnostic question. Rev. Bob Savage provided us with advanced training by sharing some simple steps to handling callers facing depression and even considering suicide. It was a great night of training, ending with the "True Story of Frank Jenner" and "A Soldier's Pledge" There is a war going on. It is not carnal. As Christians, we must be ready in the LORD, and ready to serve. As the LORD would have it. On Wednesday Night, Ed Thate took a call from one out of desperation considering suicide. Ed came to the center that evening, wondering after the training he received on Monday night regarding the suicide call, if he would get such a call. The LORD had prepared him, and Ed was ready. God used Ed to calm the caller with scriptural words of hope, to which the caller responded by reconsidering his thoughts, with the promise to seek out the local pastor and get help. From a desperate cry to soothing words of hope, the Spirit of the Lord used Ed to minister to this individual. "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" 1 Peter 3:15 To HIM be the Honor and Glory! we are still in need of sponsors to cover the expenses of the phone lines. Each of these phone lines has an annual cost
of $360, just about $1 per day or $30
per month. While
Ultimately, We would like to add back the 8 phones we cut from the center. This will require an additional $2880 annually as well as the availability of the 8 additional workers to be on the phones for each telecast. Please pray about this consideration. Sprint Airave has given us the power to expand our phones by adding 3 additional phones, cell phones, for $1.80 per month per phone, a huge savings from the previous $30/month. The actual Airave module, $360 and the $64.80 connection fee was donated to the center's use. This is a breakthrough technology to our center as cell phones typically do not work in the building. This new technology gives us full power to the phones and a direct connection to the Call Center. With most cell phones already paying their plans, this allows us to utilize phones already paid for, but now getting the additional benefit of using your cell for the LORD's work! This is MOBILE EVANGELISM ! People
